Learning a Backflip
I was bored over quarantine so I taught myself how to backflip. It took me around a week.
It's Mario but with a D. I am a freshman studying
Computer Engineering at UC San Diego, and this is my portfolio
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, in a city called Fremont. My parents are originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and I have two older siblings. My brother is 9 years older than me, and my sister 7 years older than me. I love sports and food. My favorite artists are Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Masego, and the 88rising group. I'm currently attending UC San Diego studying for a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, and my goal is to work in some part of the engineering industry. Hopefully you find this website interesting :) Here is a collage of my life adventures over the past couple years.
I have been playing competitive tennis since sixth grade on the USTA Northern California circuit. I came into college a 4-star recruit and former top ten in Northern California. I am no longer training but still play for fun. My favorite tennis player is Dominic Thiem.
Basketball is one of my favorite sports to play and watch. Before I played tennis, I played competitive basketball for a few years. You can usually find me playing pick up games at the basketball courts during my free time. My idol and inspiration is Jeremy Lin.
I took a couple hip-hop and breakdance classes throughout lower school but stopped for a couple years. Over quarantine, I picked it up again and started learning dances from YouTube in my backyard. Now, I am currently a member of UCSD's Ascension Competitive Dance Team.
Food is the best. I love all foods, especially meat. I will eat good food any chance I get, and it is what I spend most of my money on. My favorite cuisines are Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian. My favorite foods are Beef Noodle Soup, Peking Duck, and Boba Tea.
I also like to code some projects in my free time. I am most proficient in Java, but I know some C++ and HTML/CSS/JS, which I used to create this website. Some things I want to learn in the future are SQL, databases, and APIs. I hate debugging my code, but creating things is pretty fun.
Like most teenage boys, I play video games. My first real PC game was Fortnite, and now I play a little bit of Rocket League and Valorant. I also love playing chess online, and my favorite opening is the Stafford Gambit. If I ever get the chance, I want to help develop a video game.

My friend and I went to the Atlanta Open, a professional tennis tournament in August 2021. This is a montage of what we did there.
Just a video of one of my tennis practices in 2020.
A couple dance videos that I made in 2020. You can also look at @dardardances on Instagram.
Used Java active window toolkit(java.awt) to emulate a version of the popular snake game. Could not figure out how to insert the game on the website :( But this is kind of what it looked like.
My first choreography as a part of UCSD's competitive dance team, Ascension. The song is "Hope You Do" by Chris Brown and it took me a while to make it. Watch link is here
Delived nutritious meals to the secluded and immobilized elderly. Given routes to homes around Fremont, Newark, and Union City, and assembled frozen and fresh meals for those in need throughout the week. Part of a research project to improve health and the healthcare system in the US
Attempting to use React JS to make my own version of the popular typing test, Monkey Type. The project is in progress.
